African American Endowment Fund
Established
in 1994, this Fund seeks to improve
the physical, economic, social, and educational conditions
of African Americans in the Ann Arbor area. Suggested
grant request is in the $2,000-$5,000 range.
Funding Priorities
The African American Endowment
Fund provides grants for a wide range of programs and
services including mentoring and tutoring programs,
after-school programs, services for the elderly, and
cultural initiatives in music, art, drama and dance.
Schools, social service groups, churches and other African
American organizations are eligible to apply.
What is Not Funded
This Fund does not typically award
grants for:

construction projects (new building or routine
maintenance)

annual giving campaigns

normal operating expenses (except for start-up purposes)

fundraising events
-
religious or sectarian purposes

computer hardware equipment

individuals

partisan political purposes
