2010 General Grantmaking Guidelines
Given the current economic
environment, the Community Foundation's grants will look to help local nonprofits preserve essential programs and services our
community values.
All 2010 grants will be targeted toward nonprofit sustainability,
and
will be awarded as flexibly as possible to serve
those efforts. Successful applicants will demonstrate how
one-time funding - even if for ongoing operating costs - fits into a strategy of sustaining a critical program.
The highest priority will be given
to:
-
General operating costs and/or bridge
funding to maintain essential programs through a
transition period
-
Capacity building for one-time projects focused on improving the long-term
strength and viability of the organization: e.g.,
consulting, technology, marketing materials,
accreditation, et al.
-
Collaboration efforts by two or more organizations to address community
issues more effectively
Most grants will be in the range of $10,000 to $25,000.
With
approximately $280,000 in uncommitted funds, AAACF hopes to
award 10 to 25 grants large enough to make a meaningful
difference to an organization, and by extension, our
community.
Grants will be made across the nonprofit spectrum, including basic
needs, the arts, and the environment. Applicants are encouraged to call
AAACF's Program Director, Phil D'Anieri at
(734) 663-0401 before applying.
