AAACF Annual Meeting,

The Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation
(AAACF) will hold its 2008 Annual Meeting on
Thursday, April 24, 5:30-7:00 P.M., at the
Four Points Sheraton, 3200 Boardwalk, Ann Arbor. A
reception with light refreshments will precede the program
that begins at 6:00 P.M. This year’s event is sponsored by
the Bank of Ann Arbor and KeyBank.
The Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation is dedicated to
building endowment to enrich the quality of life in
Washtenaw County by providing community leadership, making
grants and serving donors. Founded in 1963, AAACF manages
$53.2 million in assets on the community’s behalf and made
grants totaling $1.7 million in 2007.
Hosts for the 2008 Annual Meeting will be Deborah Beuche,
Chair of the Board of Trustees, and Cheryl Elliott,
President & CEO. Program participants include Trustee Martha
Darling, incoming Trustee Michael Finney, Past Chair Norman
Herbert, Immediate Past Chair Bill Kinley, and Treasurer
Hugh Morgan. Other Officers and Trustees of the Community
Foundation include Dr. D.J. Boehm, Rebecca A. Boylan, Frank
Cambria, Jyoti Gupta, Secretary, Gary L. Hahn, Kevin S.
McDonald, Vice Chair, Jessa Baker Moss, Youth Council
member, John W. Reed, Molly Resnik, M.S.W., David R. Sarns,
Sandra L. White, M.P.H., and Roy Wilbanks.
The program titled “Meeting the Challenge of Change” will
include a panel discussion of state and regional
developments that broadly impact local communities and
nonprofit organizations. “Our region and state are facing
major economic challenges,” observed Cheryl Elliott, “and
the Community Foundation is committed to working with
leaders in the public, private and nonprofit sectors in
responding to community needs. Our Annual Meeting provides
an excellent forum for us to come together and share ideas
about the direction of philanthropy and its role in shaping
our community today and tomorrow.”
