Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation (AAACF) is investing in strengthening arts & culture nonprofits in Washtenaw County through a racial equity lens. This program invests funds to activate the artistic and cultural identity of all people in Washtenaw County and ensure a fundamental level of access to arts and culture for everyone.

Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation (AAACF) is investing in strengthening arts & culture nonprofits in Washtenaw County through a racial equity lens. We seek to activate the artistic and cultural identity of all people in Washtenaw County and ensure a fundamental level of access to arts and culture for everyone.
AAACF is seeking opportunities to invest funds in new and existing community-based projects that are serving communities through arts and culture focusing on racial equity to support:

  1. Community driven art programs and organizations that serve and engage/collaborate with Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities.
  2. Arts programs and organizations with BIPOC leadership
  3. Equity in arts education
  4. Entrepreneurship in the Arts for Economic Development
  5. Empowering the digital capacity of organizations to reach BIPOC communities
  6. Vocational training for the marginalized community in the Arts

Applications open April 4th and are due Friday, May 16, 2025, by 5:00PM EST

Grant Request: up to $15,000 (one application per organization)

Application Submission Process:

  1. Review grant program guidelines at aaacf.org/grants.
  2. Note that AAACF launched a new NonProfit Portal this year. Every nonprofit must create a new account to access the grant application and all future applications through AAACF. Please start this process early to allow time for processing and watch the Applicant Tutorial for help getting started. 
  3. Register for the optional but highly encouraged Information Session on Thursday, April 17th from 12:00PM-12:45PM. THE INFORMATION SESSION WILL BE DONE REMOTELY VIA ZOOM.
    Registration will close at 9 AM the day prior to the meeting. Once registration is closed, a reminder and the login information will be emailed to all the individuals who registered the afternoon before the information session.
  4. Submit all required narrative sections through the NonProfit Portal by 5:00PM on Friday, May 16th.
